We decided to explore the island a little. We’re located on Long Beach, the longest stretch of sands of Phu Quoc, but there are so many other isolated beaches around that you can only access if you drive around with a scooter or with some organized tours.
For $7 we rented a (very) crappy scooter and we started our little journey going South, destination Sao Beach. But first we stopped to fill the tank, and here is the gas station…
To be fair, there are western-looking gas stations around, but not so many going south from our bungalow. At pumps like this one, you tell the person how many liters you want to buy, and they pump them out from the bottom to the top, pretty much like a beer keg.
We finally arrived to Sao Beach (Bai Sao)… can you believe it????
Daniele is so excited that he starts trying Capoeira moves on the desert beach. Isn’t he great??
…while I just enjoyed the sun!
After a quick lunch we explored the north west coast. Our goal was to get to Cua Can beach (bai Cua Can), but we actually ended up near Bai Vung Bao, a very private and quiet beach. Nothing to complain.
And back to our sunset… life is hard! (what you see in the water is actually Silvia)
coming back to enjoy…
… the view.
Oh, there is no TV in our room. I don’t think we miss it, at all.
This looks AMAAAAAAAZING. Next time we ditch Thailand and go here. AM
